Giving Your Florida Home a Summer Refresh
We’re reaching the peak of summer, and you’re probably spending more time in your Florida home so now is the perfect time to consider ways to give it a summer refresh. There are a ton of different ways to refresh your home for the season to create a more open, airy space and accentuate these long days. The right window treatments and design choices can create intentional focal points in your home.
If you’re not interior decor-savvy, it might be daunting to figure out ways to update your Florida home. Lighten Up the Decor
One key way to create a serene and relaxing atmosphere in your home is to lighten up your decor. Consider adding (or swapping) your heavier curtains and drapes for light, airy fabrics. One recommendation we like to make is the Hunter Douglas line of sheer shades that welcome in light but also have opaque vanes that can close up for privacy.
If you’re not big on sheer shades or curtains, you could also accomplish a lighter look with adding new, lighter furniture slipcovers. You can also change the look of your furnishings with throw blankets. New kitchen or bathroom towels and table settings can also switch up your accent colors. Think pastels, whites, or whatever bright hues your heart desires. Some of our favorite light summer materials are linen and cotton, but we love incorporating other nature-inspired materials like jute or bamboo.

This one may seem obvious, but you’d be surprised what a full decluttering can do for your home. If you’re still holding on to your holiday decor from months ago, it’s time to organize it!
