PowerView® Automation is a simple but powerful technique that can be added to several of our Hunter Douglas window treatment offerings. It will make your windows smarter by stopping excessive sunlight from pouring into your home where it simply doesn’t need to be.
How Do Automated Window Treatments Work?
PowerView® Automation is a Bluetooth-enabled technology that can be added to existing Hunter Douglas window treatments or installed in addition to new Hunter Douglas window treatments. This technology can control all the window treatments in your home for 100% hands-free operation.
You can utilize the Pebble® Remote Control to operate window treatments at home or through voice activation when PowerView is integrated with intelligent home systems such as Amazon Alexa, Siri® on your Apple device, or the Google Assistant. You can also control your window treatments with the PowerView® app. You can schedule daily scenes for your window treatments throughout your home or even control window treatments when out of town for added security to give your home a lived-in appearance.
How Would Automation Lower Utility Costs?
Adding PowerView® Automation to your Hunter Douglas custom window treatments has many benefits, but our absolute favorite benefit is the savings you’ll see on your utility bill. Hunter Douglas already offers many energy-efficient window treatments that will optimize the insulation in your home. Still, you’ll see the savings start to stack up when you pair our energy-efficient Hunter Douglas window treatments with an automation system that can detect the outside changes in light and heat to adjust your window treatments accordingly.
To optimize your window treatments for the ultimate energy savings, we recommend setting a schedule for your windows to be in the best position to keep out harsh UV rays during the summer. The best part, though, is when you integrate your PowerView Hub with a compatible innovative home system so that you can program your window treatments to adjust in response to light- and temperature-sensor commands sent from that system.
